As i sit in a little coffee shop/ dinner/ bakery/ boutique? i overhear the slightly sweeter yet tangy Tennessee lilt from the voices conversing to one another about life, love, jobs and social events. I wonder at how it only cost a dollar to ride a bus but understood once it took an hour to go the 5-10min drive. I look around and i feel out of place. foreign. confused. things do not work the same way as it did in the Bay area. It;s a  new and exciting adventure! or that's what everyone keeps telling me. i wonder why all these people live here in this urban sprawl. I wonder if they have ever ventured to new york city or the west coast, the great wall of china or the tower of London. I wonder if they stayed in the same town as their mama or if Nashville was their great adventure to spread their wings? i wonder what i will do for a job once we move into our new place. And i wonder what other people do here to meet new faces and hopefully make friends. I wonder why this is the home to so many people and what their story is.

My Nashville story is in its infancy but many have years and even decades to draw from as they spin the tale of their very own story. How do i learn about what makes Nashville tick and how do i go about hearing these stories??

So i wanted to try a social experiment of sorts... invite a guest a week for one year. see if a total stranger would be willing to come to our house. are there those curious enough? lonely enough? interested and adventurous enough? i don't know if in this day and age a perfect stranger would be willing to take this chance but i would like to see.

Perhaps Tuesdays?? starting July 1st. every Tuesday have a guest in our home. Are there more interesting ways to have a stranger dinner than to invite strangers to dinner??

If you or anyone you know would like to participate please leave a comment!!
